Al-A'laa

Sucikanlah nama Tuhanmu Yang Maha Tingi,

EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest,

yang menciptakan, dan menyempurnakan (penciptaan-Nya),

who creates [every thing], and thereupon forms it in accordance with what it is meant to be,

dan yang menentukan kadar (masing-masing) dan memberi petunjuk,

and who determines the nature [of all that exists], and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment],

dan yang menumbuhkan rumput-rumputan,

and who brings forth herbage,

lalu dijadikan-Nya rumput-rumput itu kering kehitam-hitaman.

and thereupon causes it to decay into rust-brown stubble!

Kami akan membacakan (Al Quran) kepadamu (Muhammad) maka kamu tidak akan lupa,

WE SHALL teach thee, and thou wilt not forget [aught of what thou art taught],

kecuali kalau Allah menghendaki. Sesungguhnya Dia mengetahui yang terang dan yang tersembunyi.

save what God may will [thee to forget] - for, verily, He [alone] knows all that is open to [man's] perception as well as all that is hidden [from it]

dan Kami akan memberi kamu taufik ke jalan yang mudah,

and [thus] shall We make easy for thee the path towards [ultimate] ease.

oleh sebab itu berikanlah peringatan karena peringatan itu bermanfaat,

REMIND, THEN, [others of the truth, regardless of] whether this reminding [would seem to] be of use [or not]:

orang yang takut (kepada Allah) akan mendapat pelajaran,

in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God],

dan orang-orang yang celaka (kafir) akan menjauhinya.

but aloof from it will remain that most hapless wretch –

(Yaitu) orang yang akan memasuki api yang besar (neraka).

he who [in the life to come] shall have to endure the great fire

Kemudian dia tidak akan mati di dalamnya dan tidak (pula) hidup.

wherein he will neither die nor remain alive.

Sesungguhnya beruntunglah orang yang membersihkan diri (dengan beriman),

To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world],

dan dia ingat nama Tuhannya, lalu dia sembahyang.

and remembers his Sustainer's name, and prays [unto Him].

Tetapi kamu (orang-orang kafir) memilih kehidupan duniawi.

But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world,

Sedang kehidupan akhirat adalah lebih baik dan lebih kekal.

although the life to come is better and more enduring.

Sesungguhnya ini benar-benar terdapat dalam kitab-kitab yang dahulu,

Verily, [all] this has indeed been [said] in the earlier revelations –

(yaitu) Kitab-kitab Ibrahim dan Musa

the revelations of Abraham and Moses.
